SiteObservers web test case recorder is a very lightweight software tool, which is used as a Chrome extension. Once added in the Google Chrome browser, it appears as symbol on your browser.
Just click on the symbol to launch the recorder tool in a new browser window.
The interface of the tool is very simple and intuitive. All functions of the tool are organized in three links – Record, Play and Option Menu .
The instant help is also provided on the screen on how to work with the tool. The instant help keeps changing with the new step that you want to take. You can start recording a new test case by clicking on the Record button. The Start Recording window appears.
Enter the URL of the application or website for which you want to create a new web test case in the URL field. Click the Start Recording button. The URL opens in a new window parallel to the recorder window.
The recorded steps appear in the sequential order in recorder’s window. You can stop test case recording by clicking on the button. The button activates, once you stop the test case recording. Click the button to run the recorded test case manually in the real time environment. The output of the test case appears in a new window parallel to the recorder window.
You can save, export, import and use other available functions by clicking on symbol, and choosing the desired option from the available options’ list. To automate the testing of your application/website, save the test case on the SiteObservers servers and use it in the user experience UX monitors.
