SiteTest Web Recorder is a special tool for Web application testing that automatically creates an Application GUI Model and records test case steps during user interactions with a Web application under test.
Designed specifically for MS Internet Explorer, Web Recorder is included in every edition of SiteTest and is automatically installed as a part of a SiteTest Agent. After a Web Recorder installation, its icon appears in the Command Bar of the IE browser, providing for easy access to Web Recorder whenever necessary.
SiteTest Web Recorder performs the following functions:
Automatically records user interactions with a Web application under test as steps of a test case in real time;
Executes (plays back) recorded steps right in the Web browser where the steps were recorded;
Transfers recorded steps to the SiteTest application environment and automatically creates project requirements, Application GUI Models, and test cases.
Although Web Recorder is a powerful tool created to simplify and speed up test project development, it does not offer the full range of SiteTest capabilities. Its main purpose is to assist in starting test case or test project development to be later continued in SiteTest application environment.
